Katia | Paper Knit Raffia | Nautical Waves

Katia's Paper Knit Raffia fabric "Nautic Waves" is made from 100% paper raffia (cellulose) in a knitted structure with a dynamic wave pattern. The firm, structured surface looks like woven raffia or straw ribbons and immediately adds a summery, handmade character to your projects.

With a width of 60 cm and a weight of 420 g/m², Nautic Waves is a very stable fabric, ideal for beach bags, shoppers, clutches, baskets, hats, organizers, and other accessories that need shape and structure. The waves in maritime colors create movement and make every bag or decorative element a special eye-catcher.

The fabric is made from 100% cellulose raffia, is vegan and resource-saving, and offers a durable alternative to plastic materials. Due to the knitted/braided structure, it frays less, but Katia still recommends reinforcing the seam allowances with interfacing to stabilize the edges.

When sewing, you should use a universal needle size 100 and a sewing machine with a double presser foot height, as the fabric is relatively thick. This will result in clean seams for robust, durable summer accessories with a clearly visible structure.
