Katia | Paper Knit Raffia | Nautic

Katia's "Nautic" Paper Knit Raffia fabric is made from 100% paper raffia (cellulose) in a knitted structure that evokes woven raffia or straw surfaces. With its nautical striped design in natural, navy, and terracotta, it's perfect for summer bags and accessories with a nautical look.

The fabric is approx. 60 cm wide and weighs 420 g/m², making it firm, durable, and dimensionally stable – ideal for beach bags, shoppers, clutches, baskets, hats, covers, and other long-lasting accessories. The paper-knit structure prevents fraying at the edges and combines the lightness of paper with the stability of a knitted/braided material.

Paper Knit Raffia Nautic is made from 100% cellulose, making it a vegan, resource-saving alternative to synthetic fibers or plastic. The surface has a natural, slightly rustic yet high-quality feel – perfect for handmade, summery statement pieces.

When sewing, Katia recommends using a universal needle size 100 and a sewing machine with double presser foot height, as the fabric is relatively thick. For neat seams and even more stability, it is recommended to reinforce the seam allowances with iron-on fusible interfacing
